• Lagers 101 Workshop

   Did you know that there are more to lagers than pilsners? Pilsners might be the most famous, but there are a range of lagers on tap at Argenta! Join the Lagers 101 workshop to explore this family of beers, the process, malt and hops that make them unique. Gain some beer cred by describing what exactly you enjoy about a nice, cold lager.

  By the end of this workshop you'll be able to: 

  • Describe the process for making a lager

  • Identify common lager aromas and flavors

  • Describe the flavors you enjoy in a lager

  Meet the facilitators: 

  • Caitlin is a Certified Cicerone® (like a sommelier for beer!) with a degree in learning design. For a brief period of time she was the craft beer columnist with the Portland Press Herald and she currently runs the Portland Beer Appreciation Club. Follow her beer adventures @hops_and_brains

  • Ryan is the owner and brewer of Argenta Brewing Company in Portland, Maine. He has been in the industry for over 6 years working various roles.
